About 6 years ago I decided that I’d like to be 27.
I’m partial to the numbers 2 and 7.
My birthday is July 2 and I will again be 27.
I decided that I’d like to stop aging.
So I did.
My parents thought I was nuts.
But I stuck to my guns.
And now they can’t remember my birth certificate age.
I’ve convinced them (as well as the rest of my family) that I am, in fact, 27.
I did this with 2 simple words.
Decide and commit.
I decided that I wanted to stop aging and I committed myself to that reality.
I don’t have a fear of getting older nor am I in any sort of denial.
Reality, like beauty, is in the mind of the beholder.
I made a choice simply because I wanted to and I could.
I’m not special.
Everyone has this power.
The problem for most of us is that we don’t really know what we want.
The world keeps trying to tell us what we should want.
Advertisers are particularly good at making us feel like we need something outside of ourselves to achieve some level of happiness or satisfaction.
To find out what we REALLY want in this life, we only need to get still and listen to the voice inside of us.
I’m not talking about that constant chatter that’s going on in our thoughts all day.
I’m referring to the presence that is aware of that chatter box.
That’s where every answer to any question we could ever ask resides.
You are more powerful that you know.
Committed to your brilliance,
PS. Maybe next year I’ll be 25…
