It’s easy to eat crap. It’s everywhere.
Eating right consistently doesn’t have to be a drag though. Check it.
Ride a good mood. You’re far more likely to make better food choices and cook when you’re in a good mood. Cook twice as much of a healthy meal and freeze some for the days when you’re biting heads off.
Rinse and repeat. Master a day of good eating and then eat the exact same things the next day. If boredom hasn’t set in, do it 3 days in a row. This will save you INSANE amounts of time.
Focus on your 3 o’clock snack. This is where the most damage can be done. The vending machine starts looking like an oasis and candy bowls start getting raided. Starbucks is even offering discounts for people to come back after 2 for a “treat”. (Bastards!) Keep some snacks at your desk and in your car to keep you on track. Crap afternoon snacks easily morph into crap dinners and then your eating day becomes – crap.
Eggs and sweet potatoes. On Saturday or Sunday, boil 1 dozen cage free organic eggs (yep, it’s worth it – for eggs) and bake 3-5 sweet potatoes. Both will keep in the fridge for a week. You can take the shells off the eggs, but keep the potatoes in their skins until you’re ready to eat them. Put 2-3 eggs in a ziplock bag so they are ready to pick up and go. If the potatoes are large use half for a snack or side to a meal. Both make great quick snacks or easy sides.
